For the purposes of the rules below, the word
"Member" may include all persons covered under a
membership such as spouses and children. The word "Guest"
applies to anyone not covered under the definition of membership
as written in the club constitution.
Harvest Policies
1. A buck harvested must be a Mature Buck,
i.e.; (1) over 5.5 years old; (2) at least 8 points; (3) inside
spread of at least 16 inches. The fine for any buck not meeting
all above criteria is $3,000
payable the day of harvest.
- The only exceptions to this rule are Cull Bucks/Management
Bucks.
- Cull Bucks are defined as bucks designated to be taken
out of the herd due to poor genetic trates. These bucks
do not have to meet the requirements for a mature buck.
If you are uncertain of what this means, please ask before
going hunting. Pictures can be provided.
2. No matter what membership package you
have selected, no more then two Mature Bucks total may be
harvested per membership (member/spouse/children/guests) with
the exception of any additional cull bucks that may present
themselves for harvest. NOTE: Button bucks
will be considered as one of your bucks if you make the mistake
thinking he is a she. There is a $5,000 fine
per Buck for more then 2 bucks harvested per membership OR
for each buck harvested over your designated allowance for
your particular membership package.
3. Any Buck harvested by guests/spouse/children
is counted as being harvested by the member who invited the
guest. Members are held accountable for all fines incurred
by their guests.
4. The antlers from all Mature Bucks must
be scored by one of the members or a taxidermist for club
records. All necessary information and tools to score the
buck will be provided at the camp. If a deer is taken to the
taxidermist before it is scored, please have the taxidermist
score the antlers and have the score reported back to one
of the club officers for club records.
5. All does harvested must be mature does,
no yearlings. It is necessary to make every effort to take
a mature doe when harvesting these animals for management
purposes.
6. All turkey harvested must be harvested
within the guidelines of the Texas Parks and Wildlife turkey
seasons and regulations, with one exception:
- NO exclusive turkey hunting will be allowed during the
Fall Turkey Season that coincides with Deer Season. You
will be allowed to harvest a turkey while deer hunting in
the fall if you wish, just as long as it’s legal to
harvest at that time.
7. Dove hunting will be allowed during
the month of September ONLY. No dove hunting
will be allowed during Deer Season.
8. All deer, exotic animal, and turkey
harvested must be photographed with the camera provided by
the club. Also, each animal harvested must be recorded in
the harvest data logbook.
Exotics
Many species of exotic animals roam the property at the
ranch. When harvesting your exotic animal you must make every
effort to ensure that you harvest a mature animal. There are
no fines involved in taking imature exotic animals, but we
have the ethical responsibility to keep a healthy heard of
exotics on the property, a healthy herd would be a bonus for
future hunting.
- There is a $2,000 fine per Exotic Animal
for more then 2 harvested per membership OR
for each exotic animal harvested over your designated allowance
for your particular membership package.
Guests
A guest is any person not covered under the definition of
membership as written in the Club Constitution. Any time a
guest carries a gun on the property, that guest is considered
to be hunting.
ONE guest will be allowed per member at times designated
below.
There will be no Guest fees associated with Cajunland Outfitters
Hunting Club. You may bring guests with you to hunt only at
times where there is room to accomodate the extra person at
the camp. You must get approval from the Club President before
scheduling any hunt with a Guest.
Guests are not allowed to hunt during opening weekends of
archery or gun season. The ONLY exceptions will be made by
the Club President and posted to the website.
Members must notify the club president before taking any
guest hunting at any time. Failure to do so may result in
the privilege being revoked for that particular member.
Guests must sign the Guest Sign-in sheet, and must sign
the liability release form provided before any hunting is
allowed.
Exceptions to the guest rules will only be made by the Club
President and posted to the website.
Hunting
All Texas Parks and Wildlife Hunting Regulations
must be followed at all times. NO EXECPTIONS!
Anyone under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult
at all times while hunting. Children 13-16 years of age may
hunt alone only with a Texas State Permit allowing them to
hunt legally by themselves. Additionally, children of any
age may be required to be accompanied by an adult if they
demonstrate unsafe hunting practices.
All stands on the property, including lock-on stands, ladder
stands, tripod stands, and box stands will be the property
of the Cajunland Outfitters
Hunting Club or the Crider Ranch, and will
be open to any member or guest for use. Stand assignments
for any hunt will be decided upon by the members. If upon
chance a stand assignment cannot be agreed upon, then members/guests
will choose a stand number from “the hat”, and
that will be their designated stand for that hunt.
Hunters must sign-in on the property map, and place a tag
on your location, before hunting.
Vehicles
Vehicles will be allowed onto the property to get to the
hunting camp. In addition, any two or four wheel vehicles
will be allowed to travel to and from stand locations.
No vehicle traffic, except ATV's, will be
allowed when roads are wet. NO EXCEPTIONS!
If conditions are wet, then you travel to and from your stand
location on foot or ATV.
Miscellaneous
All members and Guests are required to watch a deer management
video prior to any hunting. This is required by the land owner
and the Club President. All members must watch the video at
least once per year.
Any member caught intentionally trying to deceive the Club
in any manner (unreported deer, etc.) will immediately have
their membership status reviewed by the Club President. The
President may decide, at his discretion, to revoke Club membership
or impose an appropriate fine or penalty.
A fine may be imposed by the Club President for any rule violation.
The amount of the fine is left to the discretion of the Club
President.
All rules are strictly enforced and apply to each member
equally.
All outstanding fines must be paid in full before the member
can hunt. Hunting without paying outstanding fines may result
in additional fines, or even a revoked membership.
